Cedar Rapids, IA Family Photographer | A Little Southern Comfort

It is always an honor when we are asked by another photographer to shoot their family images.  This session was an even extra special honor since they loved our work enough to invite us all the way to North Carolina to shoot their session.  Meet Julie and her incredibly gorgeous family.  She is an amazingly talented newborn photographer and owner of Uppercase Photography in Winston-Salem.  I have known her for quite some time from a photography forum made up of talented photographers from all over the world.  I even flew to her studio a couple of years ago to attend one of her newborn training workshops.  So to be able to visit again was just a treat.  AND to go along with Brent and make a mini vacation out of it was even better.  We even took our turn in front of the camera during the trip as well.  (Images from that session to be posted at a later date.) Here is a large sampling of our time spent together.  We shot her family for almost 2 hours.  We could have photographed them all night.  But the only draw back to shooting in golden hour light is that it changes so quickly and you can lose it real fast toward the end of a session.  And we did.  Lost light fast, that is.  And we chased it for awhile until we just had nothing left. You might be seeing their session pop up again sometime on our blog.  We actually made this a fusion session where we video recorded the interactions of the family because sometimes it is more than just pictures that make the memory.  I have some catching up on editing to do and will get to the video clips later.  I am excited to see how it all fits together.  🙂
