Cedar Rapids, IA Photographer | A Beautiful Day
When Mandy emailed us and asked if we would shoot her wedding, I think I told her "no." Well, I might have actually said my standard response of, "I am flattered that you asked but we don't really shoot weddings. They scare us because there are no do-overs of the day. And they few weddings that we have done were because people asked really nicely." Well, guess what....She asked nicely. LOL. Besides that, it would have been really hard to turn my dear friend down. I have known this girl since our college days where we met working as camp counselors at YMCA Camp Foster in Okoboji, IA. And even though we had lost touch until we found each other again in Facebook land, we are the type of friends that can pick back up right where we left off no matter how much time has passed. So the thought of traveling for an engagement session and wedding to spend some time with her and her fiance was really all the convincing that I needed. And I fell easily into the same comfortable friendship with Ashley (her love and fellow photographer) as I did when first meeting Mandy. And Brent agrees that these two people are just the kind of people that you can't help but love. Speaking of love...I wanted to invite you to take a picture walk through their special day. (Get a tissue.) Just editing these images made me feel like I was right there with them all over again. And I hope that they will cherish these memories for the rest of their lives. I am sure there are probably a hundred details that they have already forgotten so hopefully this puts a smile on their faces. Mandy and Ashley, love you both!!! Take good care of each other. xoxoA first look for mama's little loves. <3 <3 Melt.It is only appropriate for the photographer groom to take his own pictures of his beautiful bride walking down the aisle, right? 😉The videographer. Hahaha. No, not really but I just couldn't resist as I was standing right behind him as he raised his phone to capture some moments of his own.Congratulations again you two. It was our pleasure to be such an important part of the first day of the rest of your lives. Miss you already.
